Nigardsbreen, Jostedalen – Sogn og Fjordane, Norway
We spent 3 gorgeous weeks in beautifully scenic Norway. When it comes to the photos we took, it’s very hard to decide which one to start with for the blog… but the glaciers and their impact on the landscape definitely blew me away
May I introduce to you: this is Nigardsbreen, on of the arms of Jostedalsbreen, which is the largest glacier of mainland Europe. The fellow on this picture has grown from snow that fell during the last 1000 years and now moves downhill at a speed of 1 meter a day at some of its parts… wohoo! We went on a guided walk onto this glacier arm which was worth every minute – not least because of the beautiful weather on that day.
… more pictures to come
Wow, I’ve never seen anything like this with my own eyes! I’m so much looking forward to all of your stories and ALL OF YOUR PICTURES! As much as I enjoy your blog – we do need to meet in person soon! Gorgeous shot! Can’t wait to see more…
